2010 - CSTB INTERNSHIP - STUDY OF STATIC AND DYNAMIC FORCES IN WIND TURBINE
I integrated the CSTB (the French national Scientific and Technical Building Center) for two months during summer 2010 as a trainee. One part of this research center is located in Nantes, where most of its activity is focused on wind effects on constructions. My job was to write a general report about wind turbine static and dynamic loads. I developed a calculation spreadsheet to estimate the load on blades integrating different parameters (wind velocity, rotational speed, dimensions and blade geometry, airfoil…) The aim for the CSTB was to build their own culture about this topic in order to be able to be more efficient in future wind turbine studies. I also participated to “classical” wind tunnel studies.
